The SDL development package allows developing applications that interface with an emulated graphics card using the Simple Directmedia Layer API.

To verify if the SDL-devel package is available: 

rpm -q SDL-devel

SDL-devel-1.2.13-3.fc9.i386

If needed, install the SDL-devel package for your distribution.
